Support us

Christ Church with St Mary's is a thriving Christian community, living and working in the Swindon area in the West of England.

Our Church is over 150 years old and has stood as a beacon on the hill through many changes from sleepy market town to thriving Railway centre and more lately to buzzing commercial and economic growth.

Through all this time, Christ Church has been sustained by it's faithful friends, both within the church family and outside it. We have raised money, not only for our own spire repairs but also to build a school in the Ugandan town of Kagitumba. We sponsored two of our community to assist the Mission Aviation Fellowship to establish a base in Madagascar. We support many local, national and international charities.

We continually strive to balance mission giving with maintaining the church itself and seek support and financial assistance where ever it is forthcoming.

It cost £8,000 to build the new Christ Church in 1851 - it was built by  subscriptions from hundreds of ordinary people as a gesture of great faith.

Despite careful cost reduction programmes, every week it costs us about £4,200 to maintain and run the church building. Much of this comes from our own congregation and our friends. Sadly though we are falling substantially short of this sum and have launched a stewardship initiative to close the gap between our income and our costs. Read more about this [here]. Please take a moment to review some of the fund raising options on the left of the page to see how you can help to maintain the vision of those faithful Swindonians.

Bless you and thank you
